BANDULA [SAM] SAMARASINGHE
Sam is a senior management systems professional in Quality, OHS, Environment, Security, RTO processes and Asset Management. He is a multidisciplinary engineer and a manager with a strong background in reliability engineering and risk management. His experience in Australia is over 25 years and has held senior engineering, management and quality assurance positions in marine, mechanical, civil and offshore sectors. He possesses a high level of training and facilitation skills.
He graduated in BEng, MBA, DipOHS, DipPM and also qualified as a Certified Workplace Assessor. Sam is a Chartered Professional Engineer, NPER, Chartered Engineer (EC, UK) and Chartered Marine Engineer and a corporate member of several professional engineering bodies in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture. He is also a member of the Asset Management Council Australia and possesses extensive experience as a Lead Auditor (IRCA)
His previous employers include Bureau Veritas, Mermaid Marine, Chevron Gorgon Project, Rio Tinto Expansion Projects, Infra Tech Group, Colombo Dockyard Limited and several Universities in Australia and overseas.
Blair completed his tertiary studies in Industrial Engineering in New Zealand in the mid 1980s and, after working in the Performance Engineering Department of the European headquarters of American Express, settled in Perth in 1988.
He has been a self-employed management systems consultant, trainer and auditor ever since, assisting many hundreds of clients throughout Australasia and South East Asia achieve certification to Quality Assurance, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, and Asset Management Standards. His background in Productivity Engineering and Business Analysis neatly complements management system principles. Clients have primarily been in the mining, oil and gas, public infrastructure, construction, transport, logistics, higher education and facilities management sectors.
Blair is an Exemplar Global Lead Auditor and a member of numerous professional organisations. He is an All Blacks and West Coast Eagles supporter, and reads the Travel section of weekend newspapers first.
Bob qualified in mechanical engineering in 1982 before taking senior management positions in production management and quality management within Australia, United Kingdom and South Africa. In 1992 he formed a management consulting practice that specialises in quality, health, safety and environmental management systems as well as business excellence and improvement programs.
Bob has personally helped and worked with literally hundreds of diverse organisations within Australia ranging from $ billion public companies to Global entities through to small owner operator businesses. Client industry sectors have included design and manufacturing, capital equipment sales, servicing and hire, construction, telecommunications, local government authorities, transport and logistics, mining, oil and gas.
He is an Arsenal, Wallabies and Carlton supporter and likes to read the weekend newspapers whilst travelling within remote parts of Australia.
